3/3/2023 0 Comments Steam lunar new year tokensAlong with the ‘Emperor’s Gift’ that comes in an adorable red parcel, users also can indulge their sense of curiosity with the origin story of the Chinese Zodiac. In the Lunar New Year Sale, users can receive an ‘Emperor’s Gift’ daily, consisting of some tokens that can be used in the event market. It seems as though Valve is becoming a bit more familiar with various things that they can offer during events, however, and there seems to be a pattern beginning to emerge. The events have been wildly hit and miss in past offerings, ranging from a race where everyone happened to pick one team, to an idle-clicker mini-game that offered odd rewards and timeouts that saw clicking macros become hotly debated for a week. Yet beyond the standard sales on many titles on the platform, Valve typically likes to incorporate events with the sales to keep users coming back to explore their options. The 2020 Lunar New Year Sale has begun, and the Emperor's Great Race is on! Save on thousands of games now 'til January 27th 10am PST. Steam Sales are always an exciting time for PC players, as it allows them to bulk their libraries with thirty more titles that will be played to varying amounts at some unknown time in the future to keep them copasetic in between the massive sale events. This Steam event is the Lunar New Year Sale, celebrating the Chinese New Year along with it being the Year of the Rat. Not too many are going to complain (besides significant others when they see the bank account), being that it means fantastic prices for the fourth month in a row on PC titles ranging from unknown indie gems to massive triple-A productions. If you can’t wait, head on over to the Steam Database for a nifty little countdown clock.Another month, another sale for PC owners that prefer to use Valve’s Steam platform. The 2020 Steam New Year Lunar Sale will run from January 23 to January 27. The Lunar Sale will most likely have quests for tokens as well. You were able to grab an easy 100 tokens by joining a chat room, or by adding a game to your wish list. The Winter Sale also included quests to undertake in order to earn even more tokens for prizes. This year will likely offer the same tokens and rewards, but perhaps a little more. You were also given the $5 coupon after spending only 5,000 tokens, as opposed to the much more substantial 15,000. The recent Winter Sale did the same thing, albeit with Festivity Tokens. You could also trade 15,000 tokens for a $5 USD discount coupon going toward your next purchase. Said tokens could be redeemed for profile background and chat emotes. Last year, the Year of the Pig, you were able to earn tokens for purchases. We don’t currently know what kind of discounts or awards will be available for the sale just yet. The reveal was taken from an email Valve sent to developers, asking them to prepare for the event. According to the Reddit post, the 2020 Lunar New Year Sale will begin on January 23 and end on January 27. It seems we just can’t stem those leaky valves, can we? After all, the Lunar Sale was also leaked last year, following a series of leaks for Valve’s three end-of-the-year sales. The newest Lunar Sale was leaked earlier on Reddit. Since this is the Chinese Year of the Rat, I’m betting we’re going to see a nice discount for A Plague Tale: Innocence. Starting on January 23, the 2020 Steam Lunar New Year Sale will once more offer discounts on thousands of new and older games. The Steam Winter Sale may have only ended last week, but Valve is revving up for a new one before the end of the month.
